The most infuriating thing about this for me has always been: sports don’t fucking matter.
I fully understand that in our current cultural and economic moment, they can matter to individual people in a survival sense. But fundamentally it’s all made up fucking games for grown-ups, and it’s insufferable that anyone cares more about who gets to run around a track with who, than they do about the existence of fucking trans people.
And it’s not like it’s just chuds. If it was just Jordan Peterson or Benny shaps screeching about it, whatever, that’s literally their whole bit. Of course they think that. But people who profess to care about trans people, who call themselves allies, and even some fucking traitor idiot trans folk, think that trans women are a danger to women and girls in locker rooms (instead of, say, their fucking coaches and trainers), or that they’re unbeatable, they’ll ruin the competitive spirit, or what the fuck ever.
